Private Lessons give students one-on-one instruction that helps them to progress at a faster pace than group instruction. Teachers are also able to shape each lesson to benefit the student individually so they are focusing on their strengths and developing their weaknesses to reach their fullest potential!

Music is a powerful tool in a child’s education. Research has show that children who are actively involved in music:

♪ Do better in reading

♪ Learn coordination, goal-setting, concentration, and cooperation

♪ Are more likely to do better in math & science because music helps build reasoning skills and cognitive development.

♪ Get along better with their peers and have higher self-esteem

♪ Are more likely to go to college.


At Studio 3, we begin private lessons with students as young as 5 years old! This is the best time in life to get your child started with music. When they develop their “ear” and basic techniques early in life, they learn faster and can apply this knowledge to other instruments in the future. Piano and Voice are the best place to start. Here, students can learn the fundamental music concepts needed for other musical instruments. Brass and woodwind instruments are more physically challenging and may not be appropriate until the fourth or fifth grade.

There ARE lower cost alternatives to private lessons. Although private lessons are the best and most efficient way for your child to learn, we understand that they are not always the best solution financially for some families. Studio 3 offers to lower-cost alternatives to private lessons in voice: Group classes are available, which can have between 5-15 students. Students in these classes are grouped according to age and ability. A placement evaluation can be arranged to help you to find the best possible class for your child.

We also offer “semi-private” voice lessons for a smaller cost than private lessons. These classes group 3-4 students together who are at a similar age and ability level. If you are interested in this type of class, please contact us and we can arrange a class that works best for your schedule.

YES! Each semester, Studio 3 has a Solo & Ensemble Showcase, where private, semi-private, and group music students are able to showcase what they have learned throughout the year. It also helps them develop confidence and self-esteem, and monitor their growth throughout the year. These showcases take place in December and May.

YES! Studio 3 has some of the top vocal performance groups around! We pride ourselves in strong, versatile singers, who often also train in other disciplines to become true triple threat performers.

AUDITIONS

Monday, August 23: 7:00-9:00pm (ages 13+)

Tuesday, August 24: 6:00-7:00pm (ages 9-13)

Please prepare 32 bars (approx 1 minute) of a song that best showcases your vocal ability. You may bring sheet music, sing acapella, or audition with a karaoke track on a cd or ipod. You will also learn a short vocal number with movement. Please bring a current resume if you have one, and any rehearsal or performance conflicts you may have.

Studio 3 Glee is made up of talented high school men and women who love to sing and have a passion for performing! Glee Club students learn to master music with 3-6 part harmony, sing both a capella and with accompaniment, block songs with choreography for performance value, learn solo and group singing technique, perform in the community 2-4 times per semester, and have opportunities to compete in vocal competitions.

ê Ages 13-19

ê Must have strong vocal ability - we only accept up to 8 men & 8 women each season.

ê Train 2 hours a week (with the opportunity to add additional training)

ê Rehearsals Mondays from 7:00-9:00pm

ê Tuition for Glee is $85 per month. Tuition scholarships are available for our male performers.

Jr Glee provides an awesome Glee experience to our younger performers. These students also learn to sing in 2-4 part harmony, block songs with choreography for performance value, and enhance their vocal technique skills. They will perform 2-4 times in the community each semester.

ê Ages 9-13

ê Must have strong vocal ability - we only accept up to 8 boys & 8 girls each season.

ê Train 1.5 hours a week

ê Rehearsals Tuesdays from 6:00-7:00pm

ê Tuition for Jr Glee is $65 per month. Tuition scholarships are available for our male performers.

FOR THE TRIPLE THREAT STUDENT

Studio 3 has 2 programs for students who wish to be true triple threats. Applause is our non-auditioned company for ages 3-17, where students study 1 to 1.5 hours a week and perform a few times at the end of each semester.

The Showstoppers are Studio 3's prestigious triple threat performers who represent the best in musical theater. These talented performers age 5-17 travel the valley and the country with their high energy shows, and receive standing ovations wherever they go.
