Applause is our Musical Theater & Pop Academy for kids aged 3-16. In this class, students learn what it takes to be a true Broadway Performer or Pop Star!

Students are introduced to dance, drama, and voice, and get a chance to learn an entire Broadway-style revue show, which they perform in the community at the end of each semester. They also learn to use professional wireless microphones, giving them that feeling of "star quality" like Hannah Montana, or the stars of movies like Camp Rock & High School Musical.

Applause is a great way to start kids in the performing arts because they are able to “try out” several forms of the performing arts at once. Applause is considered one of Studio 3’s Performing Companies. 5 8 Click Here to learn more information.

Senior Applause (ages 10-17) Mondays 5:30-7:00

This class is designed to give students a foundational knowledge of acting techniques. An emphasis will be placed on projection, character study, emotions, and improvisation activities. Students will also build listening skills, teamwork, and creativity as they work together in realistic and imaginary scene situations. This class is the best place for your budding actor to begin!

This class is the best theater appetizer around! Sampler classes focus on a variety of acting techniques: Every month is a new topic so there is always something new to learn!

We will explore improvisation, scenes studies, monologues and audition preparation.  Come dive into genres like Greek mythology, Melodrama, Shakespeare (made easy), and contemporary & modern scenes that will have you laughing, crying or both!!

Scene studies and theater improvisation

Students will strengthen their team building skills through various ensemble scene-reading, character, and improvisation activities. The possibilities are endless, as we use improvisation for story and character creation.  Expect to develop acting technique, exercise your imagination, increase your concentration skills and more!

Exploring Theater of today!

Its important to stay up-to-date with the latest and greatest hits of Broadway and beyond! In this contemporary theater class, students will explore scenes and monologues from contemporary playwrights like Tennessee Williams, Eugene O’Neil and August Wilson.  These scenes are comedic and dramatic, flexing the acting muscles of anyone involved.

"Acting for Singers," Monologues, and more!

This is a must-take class for all aspiring actors and actresses in musical theater. Students will focus on solo performance in the theater, including character development and theater monologues.

Students will also learn to express and relay emotions to their audience in solo performance of musical numbers. Take your musical solo to the next level! Learn how to create effective blocking, motion, and expression to help bring your solo performance to life!

For the "Hollywood Actor"

While Broadway may be fun for some, others can't wait to be "on camera!" In this class, the world of journalism and theatre collide as we become news anchors, commercial actors, sports newscasters, and Hollywood film stars!  By the end of the class, students will have a collection of short videos to add to their collection.

The TRUE TRIPLE THREATS

The Studio 3 Showstoppers are a performing company that truly exemplifies the term "TRIPLE THREAT." These students study an intense curriculum of dance, voice, and theater, and perform several times in the community each year.
